It's Party Time! One of the best bits about being a Witch has to be Sabbats and Esbats. It's a great excuse for some home-cooked food and drink. Follow the links below and I will tell you more!

Sabbats
Are a celebration of the changing seasons. Witches do not usually do magick on these days as they are celebrations. However, they can be a good day for clearing out the emotional closet and allowing new things to come into your life.

Stories of the Goddess and the God are often told on these days and even reenacted. Children may be taught important lessons through the use of stories and it is a good time to get them involved.

Samhain aka Hallowe'en, All Hallow's Eve, Hallowmas

Yule aka Christmas, Yuletide, Winter Solstice

Imbolc aka Candlemas, Oimelc, Imbolic

Beltane aka Beltaine, Bealtinne, May Day, May Eve

Midsummer aka as Summer Solstice, Litha

Lughnasadh aka Lammas

Esbats
Are usually times or spellworking rather than celebration - although it doesn't mean that you have to do magick. Don't forget that you should never do magick without a clear aim. Esbats are the most powerful times of year and occur whenever there is a full moon. Find out more.
